Computers Get Connected
While the home computing revolution was going on, the next had already started. At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, Sir Tim Berners-Lee was developing hyperlinking on Europe's largest Internet node. This paved the way for the World Wide Web and, by the decade's end, more than 13% of the world's population would be online [1].
